Make It Monday #8: Ink Blending Techniques

Well I certainly know that I need a bit more work on the blending part.  And maybe having the right tools would help.  But this card turned out better than I thought it would have.  I only had foam eyeshadow applicators to do the blending.  Maybe I'll try again with cotton balls?  I'm open to suggestions!

I used some stamping mask paper that I cut with the Mat Stack 1 die.  Then I used the stamp from the Mat Stack 1 collection and the sentiment from Think Big #2.  Directly around the image is Enchanted Evening ink, Ocean Tides ink, and finally Spring Rain.  The pigment ink was definitely easier to work with versus the dye ink.

Maile's Set - Modern Basics

I am in LOVE with Maile's new Modern Basics stamp set!  Last night, in the span less than 30 minutes, I created these 3 cards.  I had no concept in my mind before I started...I just started stamping.  I am so happy with how they turned out!

Make It Monday #6: Impression Plate Tricks #1

I got to try a new impression plate trick using FF #10 and the Background Basics: Diamonds Impression Plate that Erin Lincoln taught us in this post.
You place the die (face up) on top of the impression plate.  Then the paper on top of that, followed by the vanilla and tan mats.  I LOVE the look of this and will definitely try it again!

I think I should have trimmed more from the white mat to allow more of the EE paper to show.  I know this is a very simple card, but that's what the recipient likes!

cs: White, Enchanted Evening
ink: Enchanted Evening, Chai

Make It Monday #5: Distressing Edges

Well this is something I have never done...distressing edges.  I see this technique used quite often, but was never really sure it was my style.  So, I decided to make a masculine card and thought it would be fitting.  I need a card for my FIL's birthday.  I wasn't sure how the Pinefeather paper and Simply Chartruese ink would look together, but I think it turned out ok!

I'm a little unsure how much distressing to do...

I distressed every edge with the exception of the card base itself (Rustic White).
Thanks for looking!
