Inspired by Melissa

Although I haven't been posing lately, I HAVE had fun making lots of things!  I have 3 sets of cards I made that were all CASE'd.  (Oh, if I only had more originality!)  Here is one:

The first set was inspired by my friend Melissa at Melissa's Paperie.  She participated in a Make It Monday Challenge from PTI about embossing.  Her creations were stunning.  I LOVE sets of cards.  You can find her post here

So here is what I created:
I was too lazy to do the embossing, though!

This set was given to one of my daughter's teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Maile's Set - Modern Basics

I am in LOVE with Maile's new Modern Basics stamp set!  Last night, in the span less than 30 minutes, I created these 3 cards.  I had no concept in my mind before I started...I just started stamping.  I am so happy with how they turned out!

Make It Monday #5: Distressing Edges

Well this is something I have never done...distressing edges.  I see this technique used quite often, but was never really sure it was my style.  So, I decided to make a masculine card and thought it would be fitting.  I need a card for my FIL's birthday.  I wasn't sure how the Pinefeather paper and Simply Chartruese ink would look together, but I think it turned out ok!

I'm a little unsure how much distressing to do...

I distressed every edge with the exception of the card base itself (Rustic White).
Thanks for looking!

Make It Monday #4: Creating with Fun Foam

Can I just tell you how much I love PTI dies?!  They are SO fun to play with!  This card is for my niece.  I used foam for everything except the card base (I just used white card stock).  As you can see in the beautiful Florida sun, the white and pink foam are from glitter foam sheets!  Such fun!
I love the impression the foam gives!

I hope you like it!

Dies used: (all PTI) Cupcake Collection, By The Numbers Collection, Heart Prints

Make It Monday Challenge #3: Glitter Strips with Scor Tape

I'm so glad to be participating in PTI's Make it Monday Challenge!  This card is first for me in two ways.  It's the first time I've used a doily and the first time I used glitter and scor tape.  I think I like it!

PTI Personal Favorite

This is an especially difficult task for me as I only use PTI products!  So having to go through all that I made this past year and choosing a favorite isn't easy!  I ultimately decided on a card I made for my mom.  I used  Flutterby Friend, a set that I won during its release.  The sentiment and dots are from Communique Curves Sentiments.  I used Prismacolor pencils to color the images.

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

I'm so excited to be participating in this month's PTI Blog Hop!  I decided to pull out one of the very first stamp sets that I ever purchased, Around & About Sentiments.  I made this card with my husband in mind, and he definitely prefers the "less is more" theory when it comes to cards in which he is the recipient.  I hope you like it!

Bethie's Stamp Set Challenge #1

I had been wanting to make a Holloween themed card using Wreath for all Seasons ever since I saw it!  I'm really please with how it turned out!  I'm not crazy about the several layers, but I love the focal image.  Thanks and hope you like it!

Everything is PTI except the ribbon is Celebrate It from Michaels.

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Here goes!  This is my first blog hop challenge...hope it turns out ok!

Paper: Teracotta Tile, Harvest Gold
Ribbon: Ripe Avocado
Ink: Teracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise, Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel
Stamps: Leaf Prints, Places Please, Fillable Frames #7
Other: Tag Die

So this month is all about new techniques and skills learned from others.  Since I'm still new to stamping, it would be impossible for me to narrow down any specific technique.  I'm so inspired by every card I see and have learned everything about stamping from everyone on the PTI forum.  So, I figured what I should do is recognize the person who got me to buy that first stamp set.

Nichole posted this card on her blog by Carol at Carol's Ink Spot:

I saw her cards using Dot Spot and I knew I had to do that.  She stampted a beautiful background of the Dot Spot onto vellum.  It was love at first sight:

Hope you like my Celebrate Autumn card!  And thanks, Carol, for inspiring me to start stamping!

So this is my very first card post on my blog. It's very fitting that it is a thank you card for Nichole and the rest of the gang at PTI. I have been so inspired since discovering PTI in February and am so happy that I have a hobby and something fun to do when I have "me" time! Thank you for all that you do. I hope that all these wonderful forum friends we have will make it easier to forget about the negative things that you hear. We love you! Keep up the good work!!!
